UNIT MANAGER

Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems is hiring a Unit Manager at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, MO. The Unit Manager promotes and restores patients' health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area; directs and develops staff; collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff; and provides physical and psychological support for patients, friends, and families.

Job Description & Requirements

The Unit Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the unit, including direct and indirect supervision, and the evaluation and discipline of staff in the department. The Unit Manager is responsible for ensuring that the care provided meets current professional and health care standards, and is provided in an effective and efficient manner in cooperation with other departments, disciplines and facilities.
The Unit Manager is responsible for staff scheduling, scheduling departmental meetings and required in-services. He or she must also keep accurate records for infection control, QA and risk management. He or she will also prepare monthly reports on unit activity to be submitted to the Chief Nursing Officer. He or she must be available to perform the duties of the House Supervisor as needed and on a rotating Holidays schedule.
A sign on bonus of $10,000 is available to candidates for this position. Must be an RN and sign an 18-month contract. Sign on bonus is payed over the course of 1 year.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Licensed as an RN in the state of Missouri, BSN preferred

Training and Experience: Experience working in health care, CPR Certification and appropriate specialty certifications.

Job Knowledge: Knowledge of the patient across age spans, knowledge of policies and procedures for the nursing departments and hospital-wide, knowledge of nursing practice and regulations, ability to use computer programs for communication and documentation.

Physical demands require the ability to lift, push, pull, stand, sit and walk distances without restriction.
