CHIEF NURSING OFFICER

Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems is hiring a full-time Chief Nursing Officer at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, MO. The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for directing all professional nursing and patient care activities for clinical nursing areas within the hospital to include Medical/Surgical, ICU, ER, Inpatient Surgery, Cardiac Rehab, and Outpatient Surgery. The Chief Nursing Officer establishes goals and objectives for various clinical nursing areas, and implements policies and procedures to achieve those goals and objectives.

Job Description & Requirements

The PT coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (CNA, PTA, etc.) and participates in operational aspects of the department and CQI activities. The PT provides input in formulating departmental goals and budget, assists in evaluating department performance, and takes appropriate action to remain within budget guidelines. The physical therapist ensures that documentation of treatment and patient charges are accurate and submitted on a timely basis. The PT participates in infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.


NECESSARY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

  • Must possess initiative and exercise good judgment in performing job duties.

  • Advanced knowledge of the nursing process, standards of care, and general nursing theory.

  • Knowledge of leadership skills in decision making, problem solving and interpersonal relationships.

  • Current MO nursing license, CPR Certified

  • At least two years of progressive nursing experience and management.

  • Capable of making decisions and the ability to determine staffing needs evaluate changes and take appropriate actions.

  • Capable of planning a budget,justifying & submitting requests for staffing positions.

  • Serve as chairperson or member on departmental or multidisciplinary committee.

  • Conduct continuing education and orientation for nursing employees

  • Knowledge of Hospital state and federal regulations.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS

  • Responsible to: Administrator

  • Provides continuous supervising guidance to the House Supervisor, professional and non-professional staff.

  • Regular contact with patients and families in relation to patient care.

  • Interact with physicians on a continuous basis in order to provide assistance on problems in patient care or personnel.
