Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems is pleased to announce the recent addition of a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program providing outpatient service to those living in the community with impaired lung function.  The Program is 2 days a week for 18 weeks, with each session lasting 1 hour.

The Pulmonary Program provides:
  • Medical Management
  • Exercise
  • Breathing Retraining
  • Education
  • Emotional Support
  • Nutrition Counseling

Benefit Blood Drive

Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive to benefit the community of Joplin, MO.  The event will take place in the Multipurpose Building on June 20 from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.  Come out and show your support!

Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems Evacuates Caruthersville Nursing Center
Last week the non ambulatory residents from Caruthersville Nursing Center were evacuated to Pemiscot Memorial Nursing Home in Hayti as a precautionary measure.  However, due to the rupture of an underground water main that has cut off water to the area of town where Caruthersville Nursing Center is located, the remaining residents will need to be evacuated to Hayti. Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems Evacuates Caruthersville Nursing Center
The river stage in Caruthersville has been estimated to crest at 48’ on May 7th; two feet short of topping the sea wall.  However, in the interest of safety, effective immediately Caruthersville Nursing Center will begin a partial evacuation.  Twenty three of our sixty three residents will be evacuated temporarily to the Pemiscot Memorial Nursing Home in Hayti.
 It is important to note that this evacuation is merely precautionary and not mandated by the city or state.  The residents that will be evacuated are non ambulatory, meaning that they are unable to walk on their own and would prove difficult to move in the event of flooding.
