     CARDIAC REHABILITATION

Cardiac Rehabilitation is an individually designed, medically supervised program for the recovering cardiac patient. On physician referral, cardiac rehabilitation provides exercise in a supervised setting and individual and group education in risk factor modification to reduce morbidity, mortality, and disability following:

  • Heart attack
  • Coronary bypass surgery
  • Heart valve replacement
  • Heart transplant
  • Angina
  • Angioplasty

Participation in cardiac rehabilitation increases the efficiency of the heart, lowers heart rate and blood pressure, assists in weight control, improves self confidence and well-being, increases knowledge of cardiac diseases, diet and risk factors, and decreases the risk of dying of heart disease.

To enroll in the cardiac rehabilitation program speak with your physician or call the PMHS Cardiac Rehabilitation Department Coordinator Janie Ricketts-Huckaba, RN at 573 359-3597
